Bubba Mac and the Recording Industry

Bubba Mac provided a comment to my suggestion regarding St. Columcille as patron saint of bloggers. The comment was inadvertly deleted (sorry Bubba Mac) and therefore is republished here in its entire two lines.

So we are on the same side as the record industry? You need to change that story so we come out against them.

Response: One shouldn't stray too far from the agreed upon facts, even in discussing ancient folklore or modern national intelligence briefings, but Bubba raises an interesting point. It is true that old king Dairmit McCarville did rule for the recording industry. I don't see how to get around that, but he also created much of the legend of St. Columcille. Now there are other reasons to think Dairmit was cool (and I hope to get to them), but I think he is cool for making Columcille as fameous as he is, or will become, as well. We just need to learn from our mistakes....
